Hi, Iām Tiana Altman.
I am a nutritional therapeutic practitioner (NTP) that embraces the transformative power that food and herbs can have on both the body and mind. Drawing on ancient wisdom that spans centuries, I firmly believe that these natural remedies have the ability to not only heal, but also to unite communities and instill a sense of purpose and meaning in our lives. By embracing methods backed by science and ancestral wisdom, we will embark on this journey together.
During my Undergraduate Studies, I double majored in Psychology and Art, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Throughout my academic journey, I delved into the realm of medicinal herbs, disability studies, the profound effects of trauma on the body and mind, and an array of visual arts. Post-graduation, I embarked on a career in social services as a case manager, where I bore witness to and personally experienced the intricate interplay between physical and mental well-being.
Subsequently encountering burnout, I began to recognize the critical need for self-care in my quest to continue aiding others. While I took a deep dive into self-care and explored various ways to support my body, it became increasingly obvious to me how intricately the mind and the body were connected. This realization ignited the spark that would guide me in my next steps towards holistic wellness and balance for both myself and others. I withdrew from social services, honed my skills as a life coach through comprehensive courses, and committed to an advanced Master's program to pursue licensure as a mental health practitioner (LPCC). Further more, I have dedicated countless hours to expanding my knowledge and being the best asset to myself and to others. I have a comprehensive background in a Naturopathy through Scholistico and I became a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) recognized by the Nutritional Therapy Association.
Presently, I am engaged in my Master's Studies at Antioch University while actively practicing as a NTP and continuing to expand my knowledge. This dual approach, which combines attentive understanding of your needs with collaborative effort to achieve your goals, forms a well rounded framework for my work with you.
